Following from their debut release Tether on Whirlwind Recordings in May 2017 (featuring Elias Stemeseder, Philipp Gropper, Max Santner) the band, lead by bassist and composer Hayden Prosser, continue their exploration into contemporary music styles. With new members Brad Henkel and Mark Pringle, the band pushes forward an inquisitive stance on process music, electronica and contemporary classical music, searching for it’s connection to improvisation and jazz. With their talents as experienced improvisers, the quartet subtly weaves improvisation and composition into patterns of new and explorative colours.

Structural Functions
Live recording

From avant jazz to an electroacoustic sensibility, Tether combines the depth of freeform sound exploration with tightly knit motifs, while bringing together various styles and influences with new colours and textures. They cross sonic and temporal boundaries and look to the subtleties of emotional connection, mindfulness and togetherness experienced through explorative music.
